Due October 17: Presentations in PDF  (by email to marlenel@stanford.edu) Please be sure to send a copy of your presentation, in PDF, by the due date of October 17th.  We will need a PDF copy in order to create a standardized CD of the presentations.  Naturally, please feel free to retain whatever format you wish for your actual presentation (Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.)

On the day of the review you may either provide your own computer, or use a Macintosh laptop provided by the CTR technical staff that will be pre-loaded with your presentation.  If you choose the latter option, please send a copy of your presentation, and direct any questions or concerns to HPCC Support Team at hpcc-support@lists.stanford.edu as soon as possible.  Also, please be aware that if you are using a PC to create your presentation, it may look substantially different on our Macintosh.  Please test your presentation on a Macintosh computer first and edit as necessary to ensure the best-looking presentation.

The Annual Review of the PSAAP at Stanford is scheduled for October 20 and 21, 2008. As always we will have a poster session prior to dinner on the first night.  This year each group will provide a poster based on their research topic.

The posters should have some technical details to complement the oral presentations, but should also include the connection to the overarching problem and the overall key goals of the project, especially the V&V (Validation and Verification) and Uncertainty Quantification

The posters should all be 31.5" by 42" and display the ASC logo and the Stanford logo.  You can have your posters printed and mounted by

  • the CTR technical staff in Bldg. 500, contact
    hpcc-support@lists.stanford.edu
  • the Visual Arts Service Center on campus.

Please send the titles and the list of authors for each poster by October 13 to:

             debmich@stanford.edu

Please contact HPCC Support Team directly at hpcc-support@lists.stanford.edu if you have any questions whatsoever about poster printing (format, turnover time, graphics, etc.)  This will ensure the fastest response time and ultimately, the best quality poster with a minimum of hassle.

Typically, turnaround time for posters is 24 hours after submittal to our technical staff.  The deadline to have posters printed by the CTR technical group is October 16. Also, if you are using a Macintosh computer to create your poster, please make sure that all images and layout look acceptable on a Windows-based machine before submitting.  What you see on a Macintosh is not necessarily what you see on a PC.  Our poster printer works with a Windows-based system, and therefore we ask this as a precaution in order to provide the highest level of service and quality, in order to provide a more professional-looking poster.  If you do not have access to a Windows machine, please feel free to either email us directly, or use the Windows machine in the CFD Computer Lab, Building 500, Room 500 N2.  You can contact us at:

hpcc-supports@lists.stanford.edu
Thank you again for your interest!
